Overall - 4.5/5 with just the few minor points listed. With this app, there is none of that, merely dates and scores, and parents have to come up with something on their own. It sounds silly, but my kids really love stars, medals, and ribbons when playing games! It helps to keep their interest and focus working towards some achievement. There should a few more bells and whistles (or carrots!) for the kids. lastly, and more from a kids perspective. This to me seems like the biggest negative for parents with multiple kids using one device. not an issue for my kids as each have their own tablet, but there really should be different users to keep setting and scores separate. Negatives: - mentioned above, wish there was more than one setting per operation, but really a minor quibble. Lots of customization options (time, repeats, etc) which makes it suitable for all kinds of learning styles. Expect a few complaints from kids regarding mistyped answers but this forces them to check for mistakes before submitting just like an exam at school. Ensures kids are actually getting the right answers. Requiring direct input into calculator is by far the best way as it reduces guessing on multiple choice answers, half of which are usually obviously incorrect. A bit disappointing that there is only 1 global choice per operation, but not hard to modify quickly, if you want to test another set. This is very important with early stage learning as multiplication tables are usually "built-up" rather than learned all at once. Positives: - One of only math apps I found with customizable settings for choosing number testing options. It has greatly helped my 5 and 7 year olds with their math facts, which is the most important test. Maybe I am old school in this way, but feel this is the best way to ensure learning of math facts by testing on accuracy and speed. Writing from a parent's perspective - this is a simple, effective way to drill math facts into kids.
